School Daze!

If you look closely at the picture, you will see our boys in front of their new school, Le Cep. Yes, for the first time ever, some of our children are NOT being schooled at home. We have been praying for a while that God would help us find a way for them to improve their French since they just weren’t catching it as well as the girls did. (We’ve figured out that you can play football with a group of neighborhood boys for hours and not have to verbalize too much.) So, when we returned to Belgium this summer and heard about a new French-speaking Christian school in our area, we felt it was an answer to that prayer. Although it has been an adjustment (more for the parents than the boys – they love it! (well, for the most part)), we are thankful for God’s leading for this new season.

Callie is another one of our children not being schooled at home this year. She has just passed her first set of mid-terms at LSU with flying colors! In addition to being EXTREMELY thankful for webcams, we are so proud of the hard work and determination she’s shown during these first few weeks of her university life in a ‘foreign land.’ We know that God is helping her set the tone for a very successful career as a Tiger! She’s showing off something she got in the mail from her little brother in the photo above.

Claire and Evangeline are continuing their secondary studies at home (see photo – a picture may be worth a thousand words, but you’ll have to imagine the smells), and Blair has begun a new semester at the university in Leuven, continuing on with his master’s work in theology. Not wanting to be left out of all this education, I (Dina) recently signed up for an online course with The Schuman Centre for European Studies. We’re thankful for the opportunities we have to study La Bible, His Creation, and His faithfulness to us now and in times past.
