As my eyes scanned the registration lists from past Connect conferences, I had to stop and do a double take as I read her name. Sabrina. Sabrina attended Connect in 2012. She also died in the metro attack on March 22nd of this year.
All of the emotions came flooding back as we meditated on a verse in the first session of the “Inner Life” class taught by Chuck & Sally Haavik at Connect.
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
It was as if the Lord brought my attention back to that list and reminded me that in spite of all the shaking that is going on around us, He is God! Yes, Sabrina is no longer with us, but she was with us for a time – just like the hundreds of other students that have gone through Connect. Connecting with these students & leaders and at the same time providing a sacred space for us all to connect with God is one of the most important things we do.
