prayer needed for Joseph

When we lived in the town of Ciney, we became very close to our landlords, Joseph and Fabienne, and their 2 daughters. Some of you may remember how they came to Louisiana for their vacation when we were stateside for a time. Over the years we’ve seen the Lord continually draw them closer and closer to himself.

Two years ago, Joseph received the news that he had a brain tumor. He contacted us right away and asked us to please pray for him. It was discovered to be benign and consequently removed through an operation. Thereafter, doctors found prostate cancer. It has been an up and down struggle since then, with many rounds of various types of chemotherapy but to no avail. We talked and pray with him regularly and told him that we are believing God for a miracle. This week, he finally received the news he had been waiting for: the cancer, now in his intestines, was reduced by 75%. He called to give us the good report:

“I was so happy to hear the news that I wanted to jump on the doctor’s desk, but I was too weak to do it. On the way out of the hospital, though, I was reminded of the story in the Bible about the 10 lepers. I didn’t want to be like the 9 who didn’t return to give Jesus thanks, so I went straight to the chapel and thanked God for my healing.”

He is making great strides in his walk with the Lord. Even though he still faces a tough battle with this cancer, he knows that God is at work. Please continue to pray for a complete healing and spiritual breakthrough for Joseph and his family.

  1. God is so good!!! We are believing God to heal a good friend of ours of cancer, too! His name is George Waites…his blog is: http://www.shadowofalmighty.blogspot.com
If Joseph has access to the internet, this would be an encouraging blog for him to follow. George is journaling his whole journey through treatment, and his faith has remained strong through it all! He’s even seen the Lord bring a miracle to a little boy who he ministered to in the hospital!
we’ll stay in prayer for y’all…and keep in touch! much love, the raineys
