Quarantined for Chloe

As Caleb recovered from emergency surgery (see previous post) and Claire approached the end of her pregnancy, we realized that we would have to move quickly in order to be in Texas for the birth of their first child and our second grandchild. We heard that authorities in Texas were requiring anyone traveling from Louisiana to self-quarantine for two weeks. Some say it had to do with Covid-19; others think it may have had something to do with the Longhorns and the Aggies both getting beat by LSU in football and basketball this year. Whatever the reason, we packed up earlier than planned to wait for the arrival of our newest family member in Waxahachie.

Chloe Louise was born, as expected, right on her May 2 due date. She has brought much joy to our family and especially her parents, Claire & Caleb. Thanks to many of you who have prayed for Caleb, Claire, and Chloe during these last couple of months. And thanks to the Lord for so many wonderful answers to those prayers.

We are beyond grateful for the generosity of Southwestern Assemblies of God University and First Assembly Waxahachie. SAGU allowed us to stay in a campus apartment, and Pastors Carl & Cindy Richard came in and furnished it with everything we could have needed or wanted. We went from wondering if we’d be sleeping on the floor to feeling very much at home. Thank you!!
